To create hybrid and innerspring mattresses you need one more key component then just foam. Coils, or as some people refer to them as springs. These mattresses may be considered more “traditional” for this reason. But many people still love the support and feel that coils offer. Between hybrid and innerspring mattresses there are a few things that set them apart.

Hybrid Mattresses:

These mattresses were created to find the happy medium between innerspring mattress and foam mattresses. A hybrid mattress typically still uses a coil system is some way or another. Specifically to create a sturdy core. As well as provide a flexible support to offset the conforming feel that all foam mattresses can sometime have. Many people like the option of a hybrid mattress because it allows them to try the benefits of memory foam and latex foam but without committing to the feel of an all foam mattress.

Innerspring Mattresses:

An innerspring mattress is what most consider a familiar, classic feel that more than likely most people have slept on at one point or another. These mattresses are built around their coil systems that provide the foundation, feel and support of the overall mattress. These mattresses still have foams incorporated to add softness and comfort, but the focus of importance is on the coils.

Both of these styles of mattress are still as relevant and comfortable as all foam mattresses. It really just depends on what style and feel each individual prefers. When looking at hybrid and innerspring mattresses it is good to have an idea of what components you are dealing with so you can make a better decision when purchasing a mattress.
