Latex is a springy material that is made from the sap of rubber trees. This natural foam is great at being a quick responding and contouring to your body in the complete opposite way of memory foam.

Poly & Proprietary Foams:

The range of foams and names of those foams is a list a mile long. Latex is the only natural mattress foam on the market. While memory foam and every other foam is manmade. This means that there can be a large variety of options with minuscule differences between them.

While some manmade mattress foams are dense and solid, others can be light and springy. And many manufacturers use specific combinations to try and find the perfect blend of comfort and support. All of these manmade foams are considered poly foams.  This is because they are made from polyurethanes.

Many of these foams are given special names by the manufacturer or the brand. In some cases even using a proprietary blend to create their own unique foam that is specific to their mattresses. While some of these poly foams cross over to be considered memory foams based off their end result properties, they are essentially all manmade in the end.

Some of the specific science behind foams can be a little confusing. Which is why we try not to get too technical.
