The Puffy mattress is made-to-order meaning that it may take a bit to be made once you hit that checkout message. The upside to this is that it has little to no off-gassing. The mattress is only packed up to be sent to you, so it doesn’t spend much time in a warehouse. Puffy makes there mattresses in the USA and ships the product for free to your door. The mattress weighs about 70 pounds once delivered depending on what size of mattress you buy.

Puffy vs Tomorrow Sleep Unboxing and Off-Gassing:
The Puffy Mattress does spend little to no time in a warehouse. The fact that it can take a little bit to make can be a little off-putting though. On the other hand, the Tomorrow mattress is ready to ship to your home. Tomorrow also offers a wonderful white glove service, that will relieve the headache out of switching. This is also a huge plus as the Tomorrow mattress is quite hard to move at 80 pounds for a queen model.
Regardless of which one you opt for be sure to give your new mattress at least 24 hours to expand after delivery. It will take at least this long before you have a true feel of the bed. It also allows time for it to air out, especially if you are more sensitive to smells.
Materials and Layer Comparison:
These two mattresses are going to have several similarities for materials. They are both true memory foam mattresses and have 4 inches of premium, dense memory foam over a 6″ thick base layer. Both feature cooling aspects in the layers that are great for reacting to heat retaining memory foam too. The biggest difference in materials may be that Puffy has one comfort layer that is 4″ thick. While the Tomorrow foam mattress has 2 differnt types of memory foam that equal 3″thick. Giving a bit more balance in the overall feel.
The Puffy Mattress is a two-layer, 10-inch mattress with a lot to offer sleepers. The first layer is 4 inches of Cooling Cloud Memory Foam. This is a great choice for any sleepers who tend to run hot during the night. The cooling cloud layer is also gel-infused and offers 8 times the amount of air flow that you would find in a normal memory foam mattress. This is an adaptable foam that will form to your body, but also will give you pressure in the spots where it’s needed. The mattress also features a conduction and convection feature, to keep heat away from your body
The second layer of the mattress is a 6 inch of Dense Base Foam. This layer features insta-firm technology that makes the base foam 99% more responsive to your movements. The 1.5-pound layer is up to 4 times more responsive than a normal foam mattress. The mattress is enclosed in a removable cover featuring the Puffy logo cloud pattern going across it. The sides of the cover are grey and durable, and it is completely machine washable.
Tomorrow Sleep Materials:
The Tomorrow Sleep Memory Foam Mattress is made up of 3 layers, with a total thickness of 10 inches. The top layer consists of 1 inch of Cooling Open Cell Foam. This layer is all about helping keep your body temperature regulated so you can sleep more comfortably. The next layer a 2 inch layer of Pressure Relieving Gel Swirl Memory Foam. This 2.5-pound layer works to cradle to your body, and disperse heat evenly from the mattress. The two layers together help distribute your weight evenly across the bed.
The base layer is 7 inches thick and has a 2 pound density. This layer is made of a High Density Foam Base to give the mattress the majority of its support. This mattress is covered in a soft and breathable knit cover. It is tight to the bed but still loose enough to allow for plenty of air flow.
Puffy Comfort and Firmness:
The Puffy Mattress has a medium firm to slightly firm feel to it. Puffy takes on a universal comfort stance, to make their mattresses appeal to the majority. The two layers of foam both work together to give the mattress a great deal of support. The cooling cloud foam in the first layer does a marvelous job of providing pressure relief. It also helps keep you resting on the mattress instead of sinking in. The bed was a great mix of support and comfort when sleeping on it. It does a great job of contouring to your body and supporting the most needed areas.
When we tested it out we did find that this mattress was about a 7 out of ten on the firmness scale. It was great for back sleeping and stomach sleeping. Sadly, it won’t be the best pick for side sleepers, but occasional side sleeping is fine. The memory foam in this mattress was also very slow to respond to our movements. This means that it may take a bit longer for the mattress to contour to your body fully. Especially when changing positions.
Tomorrow Sleep Comfort and Firmness:
The Tomorrow Memory Foam Mattress also has a very universal feel to it. Most sleepers will find that this mattress works for their needs well. It offers both the perfect amount of comfort and firmness for a restful night. The mattress works great for both back and stomach sleepers, and even pretty well for side sleepers. The mattress can support up to a total of 1,000 pounds. Making it perfect for heavier sleepers too. The mattress is a solid service that will contour to your curves to give you a perfect fit.
When we tested the Tomorrow Mattress we were extremely pleased. The firmness was just soft enough for us to sleep comfortably on our sides. The quality was also extremely high. The Tomorrow mattress surpasses many more expensive models in comfort. The memory foam let us sink in, but we could move freely without feeling like we had become part of the mattress.
Puffy vs Tomorrow Sleep Comfort & Firmness:
Comparing these two you will notice several similarities. However, they also differ as well. A few notable differences when putting these beds side by side is that the Puffy is a bit firmer overall. It works great for stomach and back sleeping but if you occasionally sleep on your side too than the Tomorrow Sleep memory foam mattress is a better feel.
The Puffy is also slower responding and slightly denser than the Tomorrow Sleep mattress. This made for changing positions a little more difficult on the Puffy and while the Tomorrow mattress is more universally comfortable and conforms great as you move. Neither mattress lets you sink in too much. We where more than impressed with the quality of the Tomorrow mattress, and how it surpassed even some pricey brands. The Puffy mattress is good quality as well, but more expensive.
Puffy vs Tomorrow Sleep Motion Transfer:
Both mattresses have outstanding performance when it comes to motion transfer. Both mattresses will be a great choice for a light sleeper. The mattress had little to no vibrations when someone moved on or off of them. That being said, the Tomorrow Mattress is slightly better in this category. The extra inch of density foam makes sure to absorb even the smallest of vibrations that may be left over. This makes The Tomorrow mattress a truly vibration free sleeping experience.
Puffy Temperature Regulation:
The Puffy Mattress has a lot to say when it comes to temperature. The Puffy mattress has cooling technology in each layer. The Cooling Cloud layer works to dissipate heat through conduction. It also has gel infused in this layer to up standard airflow 8 times the normal amount. The dense second layer works by supporting you. This keeps you from sinking past the first layer into the hotter density foam. The cover for the Puffy mattress is also made out of breathable materials. This helps disperse any heat trapped between the cover and the mattress.
Tomorrow Sleep Temperature Regulation:
The Tomorrow Memory Foam Mattress runs pretty coolly as well. The Open Cell technology in the top layer of the mattress helps disperse heat. The second layer helps alleviate heat even more with it’s infused gel. Finally, the dense firm keeps you from sinking in. This helps you not be engulfed in foam by keeping you sleeping on top of the material. This mattress is recommended for sleepers who are incredibly heat sensitive. Still, most sleepers will have little to no problem staying cool during the night.
*Please note that memory foam mattress typically run hot, these models both use infused materials to give you a cool sleeping environment but will still sleep warmer than mattresses that use latex and coils.
Puffy vs Tomorrow Sleep Temperature Regulation:
The Puffy Mattress is equipped with everything you need to stay cool. Both mattresses feature heat diverting layers to disperse hot air. The Tomorrow Mattress does run a little bit hotter. However this won’t be a problem for most sleepers, and only special cases should be uncomfortable.
Puffy Edge Support:
The Puffy Mattress is great for edge sleeping. The mattress feels stable all the way across giving you a firm edge. There will be little to no sinkage no matter where you choose to sleep on this mattress. If you wish to sit on the side of the bed it will hold up decently well. This bed isn’t, however, made for sitting on long term. Overall, this bed is very consistent in its feel.
Tomorrow Edge Support:
The Tomorrow Memory Foam Mattress did wonders for edge sleeping. The mattress has a very solid surface all the way across. It has very little to no linkage when we laid on the edge. This gave us a lot of confidence in the constant support the Tomorrow mattress offered. The edge did fine when we sat on it, but is not intended for long sitting sessions. The low cost of this mattress proved to not affect its quality at all in this category!
Puffy vs Tomorrow Sleep Edge Support:
Both mattresses feature a great amount of support all the way across. They both are great for edge sleepers and have a very consistent feel. We were surprised that the Tomorrow Mattress held up so well. The cheaper price of the Tomorrow mattress doesn’t affect it’s quality at all, and we are loving it!

While Puffy offers a lifetime warranty we recommend replacing your mattress way before this. The average hygienic lifespan of a mattress is about 10 years. Taking this into account the Tomorrow’s 10-year warranty still holds it’s on vs the Puffy lifetime. There is a huge difference in pricing between the two, with Puffy being more expensive. The mattress are equal in their amount of quality, and the Tomorrow did win over the Puffy mattress in a few categories.

Both mattresses are high-quality models perfect for the vast majority of sleepers. The Puffy mattress edges ahead in cooling technology, with the Tomorrow almost tying it. The Tomorrow mattress wins over in the category of edge sleeping. Both mattresses have a medium firm feel all the way across.
The Tomorrow mattress is, however, a little bit better for side sleeps than the Puffy. The mattresses vary in the materials they use in their layers. Puffy focuses more on cooling, while Tomorrow is more about firmness. When it comes to warranties the Puffy’s lifetime warranty is very enticing, but you need to keep in mind how dirty it will get in just ten years.
When comparing the two we do have to learn more towards the Tomorrow Memory Foam Mattress. It has the same amount of quality as the Puffy Mattress for a cheaper price. Not only that, but it even beats out the Puffy mattress in quite a few categories. The surprising quality of the Tomorrow mattress is just too good to pass up. That and the 365 day trial period couples with the ten-year warranty put our worries at ease.
