Oceano Mattress – Materials:
This 14”+ Oceano mattress comes with 4 layers. The top layer is 2” of 4lb. density, gel infused memory foam to evenly distribute your weight and relieve pressure points. This layer is plush and comforting, and contours to every inch of your body. Not to mention it is ideal for isolating motion and limiting sleep disturbances.
The next layer has 1353 individually pocketed micro coils (in a queen). This creates flexible support that means the mattress moves with you as you change sleeping positions. The third layer uses 1.8lb. density Airflux Foam. This is a breathable layer that creates the perfect transition between comfort layers and support system beneath.
The base of this thick mattress is created using 1130, 8” long, individually wrapped coils. This creates the foundation and provides long term support and durability. The coils still give you precision contouring, while the edges use edge retention coils for extra support. These same reinforced coils will be in the lumbar area for proper spinal alignment, but you will still have an overall even sleeping surface.
Finally, the entire Oceano mattress is wrapped with a soft and smooth TENCEL knit stretch cover. This gives it an immediate luxurious feel, plus the wool batting beneath for extra plushness, breathability, moisture wicking, and temperature control. The Oceano is all about attention to detail and this hybrid mattress is the mattress of anyone’s sleeping dreams.

Saatva Mattress – Materials:
In terms of attention to detail however, the Saatva Mattress is easily comparable. With two thicknesses options that match up similar to the Oceano, both thicknesses are made of the same materials. The top layer is 2.5” of euro pillow top. As comfort as it sounds, it’s plushness is built right into the top cover and creates a nice, soft feel.
Just beneath that is a 1” layer of lumbar support enhancement made with memory foam. This layer is specifically designed to alleviate pressure as well as any stress of tension in the lower back. The next layer is the first set of 884 individually wrapped coils (in a queen). This layer is designed to respond and contour to your body with an extra luxurious feel.
Next is the steel coil base support system with 416 Everflex Coils. These coils create durability and prevent sagging. They are both supportive to your body and maintain the foundation. In this layer you will also find a dual perimeter edge support system. This creates a fully usable edge to edge sleeping surface.
Finally, the entire Saatva Mattress is wrapped in a soft and breathable 100% organic cotton cover. The cover holds the euro pillow top directly to the mattress and gives it a smooth, clean look and feel. This layer is an additional layer of cushion and comfort, and is as beautiful as it is comfortable.

Oceano – Comfort:
The Oceano has a true medium, to medium plush feel. Being right in the middle means this mattress is good for any sleeping position, size, and shape. Nothing beats flexible support and pressure relieving comfort, so this luxurious mattress will fit many sleepers and last for years to come.
The plushness of this mattress makes it ideal for side and back sleepers most. The unwavering support and added foam densities will work for occasional stomach sleepers, but if you are predominantly a stomach sleeper, you will want a firmer mattress. Again, side and back sleepers know this mattress is a Dream because it is the perfect balance with the support of coils, plus the comfort of memory foam. This means you’re getting just enough sink to fall asleep, but enough lumbar support throughout your body as well.
The top TENCEL cover is never too hot or too cold, which means neither are you. Plus, the durable zones coil system will improve your posture. Even if you are a heavier sleeper, coils mean support for everyone and every sleeper. If you want co fort, durability, or luxury, the Oceano is the way to go.
Saatva – Comfort:
With three firmness options comes three unique comfort experiences. The comfort options with the Saatva Mattress are luxury firm, plush, and firm; and the comfort is as follows. The luxury firm is the most popular option because it is right in the middle and therefor closest to a medium feel. Being a medium feel, this mattress is ideal for all sleepers, but especially back and side ones. All Saatva mattresses offer a solid core, so it would even be ideal for back and stomach sleepers. However, keep in mind that even the softest version of the Saatva is not as plush as the Oceano.
The plush option of the Saatva Mattress is the softest option. A plush mattress such as this one is always ideal for predominantly side sleepers. This allows the perfect sink for your shoulders and hips when sleeping on your side. It will also be ideal for back sleepers who like a little added softness. The plush option does not eliminate support but offers sleepers to be a bit mor cocooned, and for someone who likes more contour.
Finally the firm is the most firm Saatva option. If you are always a stomach sleeper, or just like a little more density to your mattress, this is the option for you. It is very solid and offers a consistent sleeping surface. If you are a heavier sleeper, you will still want to opt for the luxury firm however, otherwise you may not get enough sink with the firm option. Remember, all three options come in two thicknesses which is great for the aesthetic of the mattress and gives you more personalization.
Oceano vs Saatva – Motion Transfer:
These high quality mattresses won’t skimp you on motion transfer. As a hybrid of coils and foams, although many believe that you can feel more motion with a coil system, the Oceano ensures you do not. The top layer of dense memory foam is the initial combatant against motion. It quickly absorbs the majority of the movement. Following, since every coil beneath is individually wrapped in fabric, this also helps reduce motion significantly. The Airflux layer in between each coil layer is also key for isolating motion. If any vibrations at felt this deep within the mattress, the Airflux layer deadens them before they reach the main coil system. A mattress like this is great for anyone who shares a bed because with all the processes described above, we’re sure you won’t be disturbed.
The Saatva is the same way, – say goodbye to motion transfer. As a hybrid as well, since each coil is still individually wrapped in fabric, this greatly reduces and softens any vibrations. The memory foam just above the comfort coils is also not only designed for comfort, but is sure to absorb any excess vibrations not already stopped. The euro pillow top is also e a try now it sounds- plush and comforting. This pillow top is guaranteed to give you the sound sleep you need without disturbing your partner or vice versa. We mark the Saatva Mattress motion transfer as hardly noticeable.
Oceano vs Saatva – Sleeping Cool:
Fortunately with the coil system of a hybrid, you also get the added coolness guarantee. Coil allow for plenty of airflow and breathability in between the coils. They allow for heat dissipation and hardly any heat retention. The Oceano includes all of these features and since it has two coil systems, is practically maximized for breathability.
The coils aren’t the only ones doing th job though. The memory foam has an open cell structure, which draws heat away from the body and keeps an even sleeping surface. Th other Airflux foam layer has cool in its name and doesn’t hold much heat and helps regulate temperature. Finally right on top, where you lay, against your body, the TENCEL cover is breathable and moisture wicking. We can ensure you that sleeping cool will never be a problem with the Oceano.
And neither will it be a problem with the Saatva. While the Saatva also features the cooling characteristics of a hybrid with coils, it also takes its own steps to be uniquely cool. The Saatva also has to coil systems, but are coil on coil increasing air flow even more so heat can be pulled away from your body. Most of the heat is absorbed by th first memory foam layer, but then released through the coils.
Finally, the euro top organic cotton cover is highly breathable. Since it is right on top, it is th final step to make sure you’re sleeping your coolest and comfiest. Keep in mind that a recommendation is also to choose the firmest option if you tend to sleep extra warm.
Oceano vs Saatva – Edge Support:
You may be purchasing a mattress online, but the quality still persists, including edge support. As mentioned above, the Oceano uses thicker gauge steel coils around the edges for extra support. It also uses mini coils in addition to the base coils throughout the entire mattress for a solid, consistent surface throughout. This means the mattress can be used fully no matter where you sleep. The surface is also durable for sitting on the edge too. You’ll find that the Oceano is one of the most solid choices, literally from edge to edge.
The Saatva Mattress is just as sustainable. It uses a dual encased perimeter, which creates a very durable and usable surface from edge to edge. If you like to sleep on the edge, rest assured you won’t get that rolling out of bed feeling. This support can also be felt when sitting on the edge of the mattress and we can guarantee it will withstand. That is the beauty of a hybrid mattress, the comfort of memory foam plus the strength and durability of coils.
Oceano vs Saatva – Value:
Both the Oceano and Saatva mattresses offer a great value. The Oceano is reasonably priced at $1495 for a queen. Even the added upgrades such as white glove delivery $199 and mattress removal $76, are also a good offer. With the Oceano you know you’re paying for quality that will last, which means you will only have to make your investment once. Plus don’t forget the FREE white glove delivery. The Saatva is a bit of a lower price but includes a solid bed with top notch materials as well. When it comes to choosing between these two it really comes down to if you prefer the more plush and luxurious feel of the Oceano or the more supportive and firm feel of the Saatva.
Oceano vs Saatva – Trial Period & Warranty:
The Oceano includes 365-night sleep trial and 25-year warranty. While the Saatva comes with 120-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty. For both mattresses both the trial period and warranty are greater than average, so you know you’re purchasing a mattress with a brand you can trust. However, the Oceano does take it a step further giving you a full year to try it out and 10 more years of warranty.
Oceano vs Saatva – Summary:
Overall, it’s like splitting hairs to decide which mattress is ‘better’, the Oceano or Saatva. The truth is these mattresses are comparable in every way, it all boils down to the sleeper’s choice. There’s no doubt that the Oceano is intended for plushness, back and side sleepers most. The Saatva on the other hand is firmer than the Oceano with all firmness options and will be best for stomach and heavier sleepers. All it takes is one night sleep with either of these mattress and you’re sure to have the sleep of your dreams.
