Nolah Signature 12″ – Overview:
Adding two inches in height to the original version, the Nolah Signature 12″ Mattress stands above its forerunner in quality comfort. This all-foam mattress is strong and durable with four layers of excellent materials designed to provide you with ultimate sleep.
Even better, the Nolah Signature can be used on both sides. One side is firmer, providing supportive strength for back and stomach sleepers. The other side is softer, delivering a cocooning hug at the hip and shoulder for side sleepers. It’s like getting two beds in one! The Nolah Signature also uses a new kind of foam that provides better heat dissipation for controlled temperature all night. Nolah adopts a wild animal with every mattress purchase.

Two more inches of foam can make a big difference in all-over comfort and support.
This material contours to your body to provide a balanced feel between firmness and softness. Your pressure points will finally get the relief they deserve as this foam adjusts to every part of your body. This responsiveness allows for comfortable sleep in every position. For a drastic difference from a standard all-foam mattress, you could select the Puffy Lux.

Nolah Signature vs Puffy Lux – Delivery:
Like most other all-foam mattresses, the Nolah Signature is compressed and roll-packed in a box for delivery. Your new mattress will arrive by UPS within two to eight days after you place your order. Each Nolah Signature Mattress is made to order in the USA. It won’t be waiting in a warehouse or need to be shipped from overseas. You may need two people to carry the box once delivered, as it is a heavy-duty mattress.
Free shipping comes standard with every order from the Puffy company. The Puffy Lux is no exception. This mattress is made to order, so there is no long period of sitting in a warehouse. Since they are made in the USA, your Puffy Lux can arrive at your doorstep even sooner than most other companies. Your delivery will generally take 2-5 days through shipping with Fed-Ex. It will arrive compressed in a roll-packed box, weighing approximately 90 pounds.
Nolah Signature vs Puffy Lux – Off-Gassing:
Setting up the Nolah Signature is much easier with a second set of hands for unboxing, positioning, and unwrapping purposes. The total process should take about fifteen minutes or less. During this time, you may notice some off-gassing smells. This should be minimal since the Nolah Signature is made to order in the USA. Most of the smell will be from the plastic wrapping and not from the mattress itself. If you are sensitive to smells, it is always recommended to ensure proper ventilation and avoid the area during off-gassing.
Our experience in off-gassing and set-up with the Puffy Lux was simple. Having an extra set of hands can make unboxing and set-up much easier. This mattress weighs close to a hundred pounds due to the dense nature of the foams utilized. You may notice some fumes during off-gassing, but these are minimal. If you are sensitive to smells, you may want to open a window or go to another room. The smells you may notice come from the plastic wrapping, not from any Puffy Lux components.
Both mattresses take some time to fully expand and firm up. We recommend waiting several hours before placing bedding on and waiting a full 24 hours to get the true feel. This allows plenty of time of time for the Puffy Lux and Nolah Signature to reach its full size of 12 inches and reach an optimal level of comfort.
Nolah Signature – Comfort:
No matter how you sleep, the Nolah Signature Mattress has you covered. One side features a softer feel that is perfect for side sleeping. Your hip and shoulder will sink into the perfect fit of cocooned cushion. The Soft Side is considered a medium-soft firmness feel. If you like a firmer feel, you can flip the mattress over to the other side. The denser side is ideal for back and stomach sleepers.
With added support from the firmer foams, the lumbar is fully supported. The Firm Side is considered a medium-firm firmness feel. Nolah has specialized in pressure relief by designing a foam that contains billions of microscopic air bubbles. Both sides of the Nolah Signature are made from Nolah’s AirFoam™. This temperature neutral high-resilience material is covered with an organic cotton cover for breathable softness.
Puffy Lux – Comfort:
The Puffy Lux is certainly an upgrade from the original Puffy bed in terms of comfort. This thicker version has a new layer of foam to create better supportive contouring. The Puffy Lux gives you a range of 6-8 (1 being softest, 10 being firmest) in comfort level. This will depend on your size in height and weight. You get a true memory foam feel with this bed from the dense foams used.
Ultimate contouring lends to a balanced sensation that promotes ideal blood flow. The top layer of thick foam prevents the back from bowing, allowing for supportive stomach sleeping. The middle layer of softer foam gives your shoulder and hip optimal sinking for outstanding comfort when side sleeping. The temper-pedic design provides amazing lumbar support that grooves to your body during back sleeping. Lying on the Puffy Lux Mattress will feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud.
Nolah Signature – Materials:
Nolah Signature is an all-new take in customized mattresses. You can flip the mattress over to either side to fit your comfort preference and personalize your sleeping experience. One side of the Nolah Signature is firm, and the other side is soft. In between are layers of supportively dense foams. Starting with the Firm Side is a 1-inch thick layer of cooling Nolah AirFoam™ that provides supportive pressure relief. This side gives great lumbar support for back and stomach sleepers. Next is a layer of reinforced high-density core foundation. This 8-inch thick segment is a strong core of durable foam that braces your body in all the right places.
The third layer is a deep supportive high-resilience foam. This 1.5-inch thick foam is an amazing transition between firm and soft. The final layer of the Nolah Signature is the Soft Side. The 2.5-inch thick cushiony section is also made from cooling Nolah AirFoam™. This component gives sleepers 4 times the pressure relief of a standard mattress. All of this is wrapped in a luxuriously quilted organic cotton cover. It wicks away moisture and is breathable. This material is never bleached and designed to be free from chemicals. The Nolah Signature is the ultimate all-foam mattress choice in individualized comfort.

Puffy Lux – Materials:
The original Puffy Mattress only had three layers of foam. The Puffy Lux includes a new layer that adds two inches in thickness, totaling 12 inches. Starting at the bottom, 6 inches of Firm Core Support Foam provide a strong foundation for the Puffy Lux. This layer gives the bed durability and four times the amount of support. It has 99% faster response time in comparison to standard foams. The new layer of Plush Cloud Comfort foam comes next. This segment adds to responsiveness with a cocooning contour, relieving pressure points. This is the layer that allows for comfortable sleep in every position.
The top layer of the Puffy Lux is Cooling Cloud™ Foam, which aids in sleeping cool with gel infused throughout. You will get 8 times the airflow of a standard mattress with this 2-inch thick section. The Puffy Lux Mattress is wrapped in a breathable cover that is soft to the touch. It is snugly covered to prevent bunching and add to durability. Together these materials work to make the most of sleeping cool, motion reduction, edge support, and comfort.

Nolah Signature vs Puffy Lux – Motion Transfer:
All-foam mattresses are the best style of bed to reduce motion transfer. Since both Puffy Lux and Nolah Signature are this type of construction, either option will provide you uninterrupted sleep. The Puffy Lux uses three layers of dense foams that absorb any vibrations before they reach the other side. With a supportive bottom layer and plush top layers, your body is cocooned. This blocks the sensation of motion from reaching you.
The Nolah Signature works even better with an 8-inch thick layer of dense foam. This section of reinforced high-density material will absorb any motion that penetrates through the other top layers. With no coils or latex, the Puffy Lux and the Nolah Signature are great choices in reduced motion transfer.
Nolah Signature vs Puffy Lux – Sleeping Cool:
Typically, all-foam mattresses have a harder time providing a cooler night than hybrid competitors. However, the Nolah Signature was designed with specific materials that reduce the trapping of heat. Their new generation of foam contains billions of microscopic air bubbles. This makes the foams more naturally aerated for an improved consistency in body temperature throughout the night.
If you tend to sleep warmer, you can flip the mattress to sleep on the firm side. With less sinking in, your body’s surface is exposed to air flow that can’t be stuck in the contours. The organic cotton cover of the Nolah Signature Mattress is breathable and wicks away any moisture. This bed is one of the best all-foam choices for sleeping cool.
While the Puffy Lux is made from all-foam materials, it uses high grade foams that provide cooling benefits. The upgraded version of the original Puffy Mattress kept the same patented Cooling Cloud Foam. This layer of memory foam provides eight time the airflow in comparison to standard memory foams. Convection and conduction technology was utilized to create the gel infusion that drawls heat away from the body.
The base level of foam is durable and supportive to prevent you from sinking in too far. This keeps you from being trapped in one spot and encourages proper air flow. The Puffy Lux cover is breathable and cool to the touch, and it is wrapped snuggly to prevent bunching. This may not be one of the best mattresses for sleeping cool, but the Puffy Lux does a commendable job.
Nolah Signature vs Puffy Lux – Edge Support:
The Nolah Signature Mattress has two side with different feels. One is a soft side, and the other is a firm side. You may notice more of a cocooning effect on the Soft Side. When sitting at the edge of the bed this may feel more like a sliding sensation. Laying on the bed, you’ll be able to utilize side to side and end to end of the Nolah Signature. If your edge support is feeling inadequate, you can flip this mattress over to use the Firm Side. You’ll feel a more supported level of comfort sitting at the edge and will not have any rolling out impression. Overall, the Noloah Signature provides edge support that is slightly better than standard all-foam mattress.
We were initially surprised by the edge support of the Puffy Lux Mattress. Customarily, all-foam mattresses give you the sensation of rolling out of bed when sleeping at the edge. However, we were able to utilize every square inch of the Puffy Lux for sleeping. While sitting at the edge, you sink in around three to four inches. There is no sliding sensation due to the three layers of dense foams used. This is an important aspect, as almost everyone wants to sit at the side of their bed occasionally. You will be consistently supported with the Puffy Lux.
Nolah Signature – Value:
Using the same materials as the standard Nolah, the Nolah Signature 12″ mattress gives you two different comfort levels in one bed. You can easily change from the soft side to the firm side at any time without ordering any extra parts. It is like getting two for the price of one with the Nolah Signature Mattress.
You can have your own queen size of this amazing quality bed for just $1,499. Nolah is also offering a $300 coupon, which brings the price down to $1,199. This includes your free compressed shipping in a roll-packed box through UPS. A 120-night worry-free sleep trial and a lifetime warranty come standard. This makes the Nolah Signature Mattress an outstanding value.

For a 12-inch all-foam mattress, we think that the Puffy Lux is a decent value option.

Nolah Signature vs Puffy Lux Giving Back:
An important topic that makes both of these companies stand out is their interest in giving back. Both Puffy and Nolah have campaigns set up to not only provide you with great products but also to give back to their surrounding communities.
Nolah is partnered with the Defenders of Wildlife. At no added charge to you, a donation is made with each mattress purchase to this organization. With this donation, your contribution adopts a wild animal to ensure it’s protection and safety in an ever-changing world. Even during your purchase, you get to select which animal you would like to adopt and the information is sent to you. This added touch not only gives you a chance to feel connected to giving back but really shows Nolah’s dedication to this cause as well.
Puffy, on the other hand, is partnered with an organization called Jump For Kids. This program helps donate mattresses to children who don’t have one. This cause is backed by social media involvement and for every 100 photos posted to Instagram, Twitter and Facebook with #jumpforkids attached a mattress will be donated. Giving Puffy an opportunity to be actively involved along with their customers.
Nolah Signature vs Puffy Lux: Our Pick!
It is clear to see when you weigh the pros and cons of these two choices which mattress is the better option. The materials used to create the Nolah Mattress are a whole new generation of foams. They provide better airflow and a more durable support system that will last for years to come. Motion transfer is more readily absorbed by the denser foams in the thickest layer of the Nolah Signature.
The thing that stands out the most about this contender is the ability to choose from two different comfort levels. You can flip the mattress either way as many times as you want to get a softer or firmer feel. The Puffy Lux also costs more in comparison. All things considered, we would choose the Nolah Signature Mattress over the Puffy Lux Mattress.
