However, you also have the choice of trying out first too to see if the comfort level will work best for your sleeping situation. This works out well especially when you have three firmness levels and options. Between the tulo Soft, tulo Medium & tulo Firm to choose from one will be perfect for you. All three mattresses are 10″ all foam beds that come in at a great price point too.
tulo Medium – Brief Overview:
The tulo medium option is a memory foam mattress designed for the person who likes the perfect blend of soft and firm, similar to what you’d find in hybrid mattresses. It is ideal for people who sleep on their backs as well as occasionally side and stomach too. This mattress is constructed of four layers of foam that incorporate cool flow memory foam. As well as two other responsive comfort foams too. These comfort layers combine with the dense base foam should provide a pressure relieving, as well as supportive, mattress for back sleepers.
This mattress also comes with a 120-night sleep trial, 10-year warranty and free shipping. Not to mention the ease of trying out before you have to buy, if you want. Otherwise, just wait at home and yours will be delivered within 48 hours. Are you ready to try your tulo today?
The very first thing to do with your new tulo mattress is take it out of the box and get it set up. It should show up right at your door and in a fairly compact box, for a mattress anyway. Getting it to where it needs to go may take two sets of hands. It is about 75 lbs and a little awkward to maneuver if your on your own. Once you get it to where you’ll be sleeping it should only take a few minutes to get it out of the box and take it out of the plastic and come to life.
During the unboxing process you might notice a bit of odor, but it should be very minimal off-gassing. With most boxed mattresses there will be a little bit of smell once it is allowed to unroll and take shape, but these natural mattresses are made in the US which helps tremendously with cutting down on any noxious odors. It should be fine within a few hours but if you are more sensitive to certain smells letting it breath up to 12 hours would probably be a good idea. Also, this mattress will need a few hours to fully expand before sleeping on it. But should be good to go in no time.
This tulo medium mattress was a piece of cake to unbox. See for yourself in our video below!
When setting up your new tulo mattress it will need a foundation that provides a flat, even surface that will support the weight of the mattress as well as the sleepers. It also will need to be the right height for you as well as be aesthetically appealing. The tulo bed would work great on a box spring with or without a frame, an adjustable base, a platform bed or slatted bed. To find a foundation option that would work for you with your sleep products, check out our frames & bases reviews too.
The tulo medium mattress uses four layers of foam to create these 10″ foam mattresses. The top layer is a softer hugging and pressure relieving memory foam. A layer of responsive poly foam that adds bounce and easy moving. As well as another layer of high resiliency poly foam to create a smooth transition between the top layers and dense base foam. These comfort layers work together to create a balanced and supported medium and firm feel.
The medium option should come in at about a 5 on the firmness scale when it comes to foam mattresses. This option would work well for any sleeping position because it should be soft enough to contour to your body but firm enough to provide the necessary support. It’s also most ideal for couples since it works best for all sleeping positions, shapes, and sizes.
While trying out each tulo option we found the medium to be the most ideal for comfort levels. This option is soft enough to sleep comfortably on your side. As well as firm enough to provide the necessary support for your back while sleeping on your stomach or back. The medium also felt consistent and smooth and more of the “sweet spot” that accommodated both of our sleeping styles and needs. This one would be our top memory foam mattress choice for comfort for the vast majority of sleepers too.
The tulo medium mattress will do very well for motion isolation and movement. This mattress is an all foam bed that utilizes a variety of foams, including memory foam. Memory foam mattresses are great for absorbing vibrations and it drastically cuts down on partner disturbance.
Motion transfer on the tulo will be very minimal, if any at all. This is great for anyone who shares a mattress, especially lighter sleepers too. Regardless of which comfort option you choose, this mattress will perform well in the motion transfer department.
When it comes to sleeping cool there are a few things that the tulo soft mattress offers. Like many all foam mattresses holding heat can sometimes be more of an issue. To combat this there is a layer of foam that is more breathable. This helps dissipate heat a little more.
However, not having a coil system or a convoluted layer of foam will make it harder for heat to dissipate. The tulo medium doesn’t allow you to sink into the bed nearly as much as the soft. It may be a bit more difficult to change positions on than the firm, but falls between the two options for sleeping cool. You may sink into the bed a little bit, but not too much.
If you are interested in the tulo but you sleep warmer, the firm option will be better. However, warmer sleepers in general may want to go a different direction. Check out some of our recommendations at the Best Mattresses for Hot Sleepers.
The support around the perimeter of the tulo medium mattresses should provide a consistent and fully usable feeling sleeping surface. The base foam is dense and sturdy and allow most of this mattress to be used for sleeping. Sleeping on this mattress you should not feel a huge difference of support from the edge to the middle.
However, if you use the edge of your mattress for sitting, you will notice much less support, especially if sitting for an extended period of time. If you utilize your mattress to sit on the edge for any reason, you may want to look at a bed with more edge support.
The price for the medium tulo mattress is $750 for a queen size. This includes free shipping and returns, 120-night sleep trial, and a 10-year warranty. The value of this mattress is good, especially considering what you are getting for the price point. Also, there are always promotions and discounts or tulo. This mattress is 10″ thick and has four layers of foam. The top layer is 2” of 3.25lb Proprietary Memory Foam. It is a blend of titanium particles and high-density Cool Flow ventilated memory foam. This layer is great for pressure relief as well as evenly distributing weight.
The 2nd layer is 1.5″ of 2.5lb Responsive Poly Foam. This layer has a “peak & valley” design to provide good airflow to help dissipate heat and keep the mattress cooler. It is also a comfort layer that will add a feeling of responsiveness that is easy to move.
Under the top two layers is 1.5″ of 2.5lb High Resiliency Firm Foam. This layer uses strut reinforcing technology to create a foam that maintains the mattresses durability and reduces surface compression. This layer also is great for providing adaptable support and works well as a transition layer between the comfort foams and base foam.
The foundation of this mattress is 5″ of 1.8lb density High-Density Base Foam. This layer is the core of the mattress and provides much of the durability, support, and base of the bed. It is a great layer for the other layers to rest on and perform accordingly.
All of the tulo mattresses are covered in a combination of a breathable knitted Polyester and Tencel blended fabric. This cover is reinforced with a Polyester Elastan blended material for maximum durability.
Trial Period & Warranty:
The tulo mattress has a 120-night sleep trial period. This is a bit longer than many other online mattress companies offer. This allows you a few extra days to see if it is the right bed for you. We highly doubt that this mattress won’t be loved instantly, but if for some reason it doesn’t, Mattress Firm will gladly work with you to make sure you are taken care of.
Tulo offers a 10-year limited warranty. Like most mattress warranties the 10-year Mattress Firm warranty is prorated to coincide with the natural average wear of the bed over time. This warranty is fairly standard and provides consumers with the confidence that this is a product that the company will stand behind.
