This mattress comes in three firmness options making finding the perfect feel easy as can be. And if you aren’t sure Muse has an easy quiz to help you figure it out.
Below we have our comprehensive and detailed review for the Muse mattress. We will go through how it performs for off gassing, comfort, motion transfer, sleeping cool, edge support, value, material, trial and warranty.
The very first thing you’ll need to do with your new Muse mattress is take it out of the box and get it set up. It should show up right at your door and in a fairly compact box, for a mattress anyway. Getting it to where it needs to go may take two sets of hands. It is about 90 lbs and a little awkward to maneuver if you’re on your own. Once you get it to where you’ll be sleeping it should only take a few minutes to get it out of the box and take out of the plastic and come to life.
During the unboxing process you will notice a bit of off gassing but it should be very minimal. With most boxed mattresses there will be a little bit of smell once it is allowed to unroll and take shape. It should be fine within a few hours but if you are more sensitive to certain smells letting it breathe for 12 to 24 hours would probably be a good idea. This mattress is made in the USA and is CertiPUR-US certified too.
When setting up your new mattress it will need a foundation that provides a flat, even surface that will support the weight of the mattress as well as the sleepers. It also will need to be the right height for you as well as be aesthetically appealing. The Muse mattress would work great on a box spring with or without a frame, an adjustable base, a platform bed or slatted bed. To find a foundation that would work for you check out our frames & bases reviews.
The Muse mattress comes in three comfort levels, soft, medium and firm. The medium is the most popular and provides a great combination of support and cushion. This option would work great for back sleepers and would work well for most side and stomach sleepers too and is going to be best for people who like a supportive feel but with still a little extra softness.
The soft option is going to be the softest option and this will work best for someone who likes a soft mattress that conforms to them more and someone who mostly sleeps on their side. The firm option is going to appeal to people who like to not sink in to the mattress and more than likely sleep on their stomachs and back.
Having these three options really allows for you to find what will work best for you. Also, this mattress is going to appeal to the sleeper who likes the feel of memory foam. The top four inches of this mattress are memory foam and are going to conform to you more than a latex or springy poly foam will.
With many all foam mattresses there will be minimal motion transfer due to the nature of materials. The motion transfer was minimal for the Muse mattress. It has the dense base foam and four inches of memory foam that really cuts down on vibrations.
We noticed very little partner disturbance, which is beneficial for anyone sharing a bed with someone. That makes this mattress great for those who are getting in and out of bed at different times. It is also great if someone is a light sleeper and doesn’t want to feel the other person moving around.
The Muse mattress has a couple features that focus on keeping the bed comfortable and cool all night long. The very top 2 inch layer of memory foam is a denser memory foam which will help from sinking in too much. It is infused with cooling gel to help offset any heat that is absorbed.
The Muse mattress has a special feature in it’s very thoughtful and well designed cold wire plus cover. This cover has unique temperature absorbing properties that allow the mattress to respond to the sleepers needs. It adjusts accordingly to keep the temperature just right. However, the cover has an initial cool to the touch feel but does loose this cooling feel throughout the night.
Edge support is one of the things you probably don’t think about initially when looking at a mattress but can be a very important feature once you get it home and use it daily. Especially for sleeping, sitting and getting in and out of bed. Hence, why we look at this function in every mattress.
While doing the Muse mattress review we found the edge support to be similar to most online foam mattresses. Which is good but lacks the higher end edge support you would feel from a traditional innerspring mattress. For sleeping, the Muse mattress would work fine and you should utilize the full edge to edge surface. However, if you are planning to sit on the edge for more than putting on your socks it may lack the desired support.
This mattress comes in at $950 for a queen size and that includes shipping. Muse also gives a 120 night sleep trial and a 10 year warranty. The Muse mattress is a well designed and quality bed that is a good value. Be sure to click the button bellow for extra savings.
The Muse mattress has a 120 night sleep trial period. The trial period is a bit longer than most. While, the warranty is the online mattress industry average and what is typical offered. This trial period allows for a sufficient amount of time to see if this mattress is a good fit. If it isn’t, they have a very easy return process.
The Muse mattress has a 10 year warranty. Like most mattress warranties this one is prorated to coincide with the natural average wear of the bed over time. This warranty is fairly standard and provides consumers with the confidence that this is a product that the company will stand behind.
