Ecosa mattress is an innovative design that lets you have three different firmness levels in one mattress. How is this possible you ask? They designed a mattress with different stackable and fipable layers. Giving you a bed with different feels depending on your needs. The mattress also features a waterproof cover that helps the model be more sanitary than some other mattresses out there. The brand even prides itself by being a more eco-friendly mattress.
Ecosa Mattress – Brief Overview:
The Ecosa Mattress is a 10-inch foam mattress with 3 interchangeable layers. You can adjust the firmness of this bed by simply reordering the layers of the bed. This gives all types of sleepers a mattress that can truly adjust to fit their comfort. They even made this mattress to be waterproof and mostly dust mite resistant as an added bonus. If you are a couple this is a great choice. Since they made the support layer to help stop any motion vibrations from reaching your partner.
Ecosa is an Australian based mattress company that has started to spread out internationally. Most recently, they have made their way into the U.S. market. They pride themselves on having an innovative yet reasonably priced mattress that is truly perfect for all types of sleepers. The mattress is currently on version 3.0 and the team is continually working to improve it.
For starters, you are probably wondering just how the Ecosa mattress will get to you. They pack the Ecosa mattress in a box and store it in a warehouse to await shipment. Once you place your order online the company will take note and get your order ready for processing. Once everything has been cleared the company will ship out your order within one business day. The shipping for the mattress is free to your home. You can even make a note in the delivery box to let the company know what days are best for delivery.
Once the mattress makes its way to your home, you will need to get it inside and begin the unboxing process. The mattress will weigh around 77 pounds at the queen size. With the weight fluctuating depending on the size of mattress you need. As with any large product, we suggest you have a friend to help you move the mattress box around to avoid any potential injuries.
Once you have your new bed in place, remove the plastic and let it begin to expand. Be sure to give the Ecosa mattress a few days to regain its full firmness before making any judgments. You should also try and give the mattress 12-hours to expand before you try to sleep on it.
Delivery & Unboxing:
Here’s where the mattress gets a little confusing. Ecosa imports materials from different countries and then ships them to a factory in China. They produce their mattress in the Chinese factory. According to Ecosa, this is to cut the cost of the product, and the factory uses some of the latest technology to build your bed.
Then they ship the mattress from China to the U.S.A to await shipment to you. This almost guarantees the mattress will have a bit of off-gassing. We recommend giving the bed 12-hours to air out in an open room before use. This also makes us worry a little bit about the overall build of the mattress as products from China don’t generally hold to the standards as products made in the U.S.A. do.
Ecosa Mattress – Comfort:
The Ecosa mattress is extremely versatile in the comfort category. Instead of having several different mattresses to choose from, Ecose only has one. Unlike most companies, the one mattress doesn’t mean you just get the default medium-firm feel. Instead the mattress can alter between three different firmness levels depending on your preference. You can choose between medium, medium-firm, and firm whenever you choose. All it takes is switching the layers around a little bit to give your mattress a completely different feel.
This means that no matter what type of sleeper you are or what your current firmness needs are the mattress can be adjusted to your liking. For medium all you need to do is have the G-7 Gel layer on top. If you wish for a medium-firm feel flip the first two layers over so that the Eco-Tex memory foam is on top. To get the firm feel you simply need to flip to the Eco-Tex side and put the support layer on top. The only difficult part of the process will be getting everything back inside of the zip cover.
The Ecosa mattress can hold up to 880 pounds or 440 pounds on each side of the mattress. The medium option is recommended for sleepers below 195 pounds, while medium-firm and up is recommended if you are over 195 pounds. This makes this mattress a good choice for heavier sleepers as well. The mattress is made to be both waterproof to stall bacteria growth and flame retardant. Additionally, the mattress is made to be resistant for dust mites as an extra perk.
Ecosa Mattress – Motion Transfer:
Motion transfer can be an enemy of couples everywhere. When your partner tosses and turns at night it has the potential to wake you up easily. Luckily, the Ecosa mattress is actually famous for the amount of motion isolation the mattress offers. With this product, you won’t have to worry about waking your partner up. No matter how much you get in or out of bed during the night. This makes this a great choice if you have issues with your partner’s sleep schedule. In fact, the support layer was specifically designed to help isolate motion. The mattress even had a wine test video go viral due to its incredible reduction of motion.
Ecosa Mattress – Sleeping Cool:
While the Ecosa doesn’t seem to feature the most advanced heating fighting technology, it still takes some steps to keep things cool. The mattresses first layer has cooling gel particles in it to ward off heat. The layers are also designed with small holes that help air easy flow through them. This keeps hot air from being trapped.
The cover of the mattress is made to be breathable, giving you a little bit of extra heat resistance. You can even change the mattress in its firm option to keep you from sinking in helping you sleep even cooler during the night.
Ecosa Mattress – Edge Support:
Edge support is one of the most overlooked parts of mattress shopping there is. The truth is edge support can be a complete deal breaker for many mattresses that lack it. Without proper edge support, a mattress will lack the support it needs to let you use the whole surface of your bed.
This causes you to have to sleep more towards the middle of the mattress. As sleeping near the edge will have you slowly sliding towards the floor. Proper edge support can also be a great sign of a durable mattress. When a mattress has the same feel all the way across, it means that the company used the same great materials in every inch of their product.
The Ecosa mattress does decently in giving you edge support. While the Ecosa won’t support you for a movie marathon, you can still set on the edge of the bed to perform short activities. The mattress also works to support from edge to edge. This will allow you to use the full sleeping surface of the Ecosa mattress without having to worry about sliding off the side. This is perfect for people who actually like to sleep on the edge of the bed or couples who appreciate a little bit of extra room when sharing a bed.
Ecosa Mattress – Value:
We can talk all day about how this brand has incredible motion isolation and is a versatile product. One of the biggest questions consumers will have though is exactly how much the Ecosa mattress will cost them. Keep in mind that shipping for the product is completely free knocking off the large shipping cost of the product. The mattress also has free returns and a sleep-trial to ensure you like the bed before 100% committing..
The Ecosa mattress comes in just about every size you could ever need. The twin-size of the Ecosa mattress will run you around $749 with the twin XL costing about $50 more at $799. The full size of the mattress will run you $899 with the queen size costing $100 more at $999. The King size of this mattress will cost $1,099 with the California king running the same price. This makes the Ecosa a pretty great value for it interchangeable comfort levels and the 15-year warranty only helps sweeten the deal.
Materials & Construction (Comfort Layers):
The Ecosa mattress is made up of 10-inches of foam and is divided into 3 different layers to help it give you a comfortable night’s sleep. Interestingly enough, the mattress firmness will depend on how you set the layers up, here are the layers in order of their medium-firm set-up. The first layer of the Ecosa mattress is made of G-7 Gel Memory Foam. This layer is a gel particle infused to help the bed keep a cool feel during the night. This layer will let you gently sink into the mattress while still providing stability for your back.
The second layer of this mattress is wrapped with the first. This layer is made out of Eco-Tex Memory Foam. This is a comfort layer primarily and will mold to the shape of your body as you sleep. It is also made to be more durable than other latex unfused layers to help your mattress last for years to come. Both of these layers feature small holes that let air easily pass through them. This works with the bottom layers design to make the mattress breathable.
Materials & Construction (Support Layer & Cover):
The final layer of the mattress is the Ergonomic Support Foam. This layer is the core support of the mattress and is wrapped separately from the other two layers. This layer focuses on your pressure points while providing spinal alignment. Additionally, it will absorb any motion transfer that happens on top of it.
These layers are wrapped in a Waterproof Inner Cover, this cover holds the first two layers together, while the support layer is individually wrapped. This layer is made to keep the layers dry and protected from body oils. This layer is wrapped by the removable cover that helps hold everything together while providing even more protection from spills. Best of all it helps with airflow to and is soft to the touch.
Trial Period & Warranty:
Many consumers find themselves wary of the bed-in-a-box model even if the prices for these mattresses are greatly reduced from show floor brands. This is because they can’t test out the bed to make sure it’s the right fit for them. Ecosa, like many other brands, offers a sleep trial to give you time to try out the mattress and determine if you like it enough to keep. The Ecosa sleep trial is 100-nights long, giving you plenty of time to figure out just how much you like the product. If you don’t then you are eligible for a free refund and your mattress will be donated to charity.
If you do choose to keep your mattress then you will be protected by a 15-year warranty from Ecose. The warranty will have the bed replaced in the case of any defects popping up or unnatural sagging. All you need to do is contact Ecosa’s friendly support and your replacement bed will be on the way to your home.
