Below we have our in-depth Brooklyn Bedding Signature mattress review. Included is our unboxing video and our detailed written review. We will go through how it performs for off-gassing, comfort, motion transfer, sleeping cool, edge support, value, material, trial and warranty.
Delivery & Off Gassing:
The convenience of having a mattress shipped right to your house would almost be unimaginable five years ago. Now you get a fairly compact box and a bed rolled up and ready to sleep on in a few minutes. The Brooklyn Signature is one of those conveniently shipped beds. Showing up in a 100+ pound box that will take two people to get to where it needs to go. But once you do, there’s not much to it. Unwrap it, unroll it and carefully cut the plastic and watch it expand.
Once you take this mattress out of the box and plastic there may be a bit of trapped gasses that will escape. This should be very minimal and not be overly noxious. Almost all bed in a box mattresses have a bit of odor attached from sitting tightly in plastic. Some more noticeable than others, but very few that have cause for any concern.
The Brooklyn Bedding mattresses are all made in the USA at their own factory. So off gassing is kept to a minimum. Regardless you may want to let your new mattress air out, just to make sure that it doesn’t smell once you put sheets on it. It is also good to note that it will also take several hours, if not a full day, to fully expand too. The foams take a bit of time to inflate and fully expand. This is just something to keep in mind the first few nights. It may feel a bit different given time to settle in over the first few days.
Check out the Signature Brooklyn Bedding review of our unboxing that shows just how easy it is:
Brooklyn Bedding Foundations:
When setting up your new bedding it will need a foundation that provides a flat, even surface that will support the weight of the mattress as well as the sleepers. It also will need to be the right height for you as well as be aesthetically appealing. Brooklyn Bedding also sells box springs, adjustable bases and platform beds. Otherwise, the Brooklyn Bedding mattress would work great on any box spring with or without a frame, an adjustable base, a platform bed or slatted bed.
Brooklyn Bedding Review – Comfort:
The Brooklyn Bedding mattress uses two layers of foam and a solid coil system to create their 11″ mattress. The top layers are a reactive patented TitanFlex foam that has the bounce and response like latex. These two layers pair perfectly with the pocketed coil system underneath. This coil system provides perfect support and flexible response along with a solid core. All the layers work in harmony to provide ideal comfort.
Not only do these layers work perfectly together this mattress is also offered in three firmness levels. Ranging from soft, medium to firm. All of them ideal for your preferred option.
The soft feeling Brooklyn Signature is best for side sleepers. This mattress will have plusher, more contouring comfort foams that allow your body to sink in a bit more. The support is still there, but it allows you to feel a bit more “in” the bed. The soft option will fall around a 4 on the firmness scale. With 1 being the softest and 10 the firmest.
Next is the most popular option the medium feel. This one is most ideal for couples who share a bed as well as anyone who varies in sleeping positions. It works well for side, stomach and back sleeping making it very adaptable. It provides plenty of support but a more balanced feeling comfort that is enough contour but still dense too. This option is around a 6 on the firmness scale.
Lastly is the firm option. This is going to offer the most dense feel and be best for dominant stomach sleepers. Or for anyone who likes the feeling of being “on” the bed. It will still have a bit of cushion, but more or less a firmer feel. This one comes in around an 8 on the firmness scale. It is also good to note that if you are a heavier person that these options will feel a little softer to you, so keep that in mind. Having the option to choose between three firmness levels should allow you to find the right feel that is best for you.
Our Comfort Experience:
As far as comfort goes, we really enjoyed sleeping on the new Brooklyn Signature. The upgraded coil system really allowed the comfort layers to have more flexibility to contour to you as well as provided more optimal and precise support. We really liked the original Brooklyn Bedding mattress, but the updates really did elevate this to a mattress that checked all our boxes.
The feel of the medium option worked perfectly for all sleeping positions and would also work well for a variety of sizes and shapes. The mattress provided just enough bounce for easy moving, and just enough hug to relieve all pressure. This mattress not only delighted us, but exceeded our expectations, especially on comfort.
Brooklyn Bedding Review: Motion Transfer:
We found the motion isolation on the Brooklyn Bedding Signature to be very good. Even with certain materials that may seem naturally buoyant, they worked together to reduce any partner disturbance. Naturally a coil system is going to have a bit of spring. However, when each of those coils is encased with fabric it reduces the vibrations tremendously. The patented TitanFlex foam also is more responisve but is also pressure relieving and dense making motion transfer minimal.
This mattress was easy to move on, but didn’t make for much, if any, partner disruption. It also has an added dneser layer of transition TitanFlex foam. This layer was specifically added not only for great comfort, but motion isolation. This adds another detail and great barrier between the more responsive top layer of TitanFlex foam and coils underneath. For a hybrid mattress this did a great job for minimizing movement.
Brooklyn Bedding Review: Sleeping Cool:
Sleeping cool is always a little easier when you have specifically chosen properties materials that work in your favor. The updated coils system adds to this but also the TitanFlex comfort foams are great too. This latex alternative foam has many of the same properties of natural latex. It is aerated as well as has minimal heat absorption. As well as a bit more responsive so you don’t feel stuck. The top two layers are made of this foam and to top it off the very top layer even has a TitaniumGel infusion. Making the cooling and breathablity that much better.
The Ascension pocketed coil system is durable and supportive and great for sleeping cool. Having a place for any trapped heat to easily dissipate between coils makes for a much cooler mattress. It also helps if you are a warmer sleeper having the option to have a medium or firm mattress. Having a mattress that you sink into will hold and retain more body heat. Where having a firmer bed that you are not sinking into too much will help allow air to circulate and breathe better.
Sleeping warm was definitely no concern for us while sleeping on the upgraded Brooklyn Signature bed. This mattress kept a very neutral temperature all night long and all the materials worked just as intended to alleviate any excess heat.
Brooklyn Bedding Review: Edge Support:
Being able to fully use your mattress is very important. Whether you sleep right up to the edge, sit on the end to get ready for the day or just want a solid sturdy mattress. Having good edge support really is a testament to the materials and quality of the bed. When you have a fully usable sleep surface that maintains its consistency and feel you can use every inch of it.
The Brooklyn Signature uses an ascension coil set. This not only offers ideal support but makes for a more usable perimeter too. This allows the mattress to feel more consistent across the top and will make for a mattress that is not only fully usable but also more adaptable to being sat on too. The edges will not feel easily broken down while periodically sitting on them.
The edge support of this mattress definitely exceeded what we were expecting. We knew that the coil system would create a more durable and solid mattress but the edges were as solid as most mattresses with encasement added. The rigid perimeter really lent a hand into making this mattress very consistent and level for optimal use and wear. If you want a mattress that is not only great for sleeping but will work well for periodically sitting on, this would make a wonderful choice.

Materials & Construction:
The Brooklyn Signature mattress is made up of three layers that create this 11″ bed of super comfortable materials. The top 2″ is made of 4lb density TitanFlex Foam. This foam takes the responsiveness benefits of latex and the pressure relieving benefits of memory foam to create the best of both worlds. It also is also great for comfort and cooling and will contour very nicely to the sleepers body.
The middle layer is 2″ of 4lb density TitanFlex Foam as well. This layer has similar benefits of the top layer but is a little denser to allow for more support and pressure relief. As well as deep comfort and more contouring and hugging for the perfect balance and ability to adapt to all shapes and sizes.
The foundation is made of 6″ of 1,024 Ascension Pocketed Coil System, in the Queen size. This coil system is not only pocketed for minimal motion transfer but also for perfect support at every point of your body. This system provides the core and foundation of the mattress and creates durability as well as stability for the foams on top.
The cover of this mattress is a super soft quilted cotton blend. The top is sewn into the 3/4″ thick layer of extra foam to create an added pillow top like layer. This adds extra plushness & comfort. It also has solid, durable side panels that even have sewn in handles for easy moving.
Trial Period & Warranty:
The Brooklyn Bedding mattress has a 120 night sleep trial period. This is slightly above the online mattress industry average and what is typical offered. This trial period is a few days longer than most and allows for a sufficient amount of time to see if this mattress is a good fit for you and also has a very easy return process if it isn’t.
Brooklyn Bedding offers a 10 year limited warranty. Like most mattress warranties the 10 year Brooklyn Bedding warranty is prorated to coincide with the natural average wear of the bed over time. This warranty is fairly standard and provides consumers with the confidence that this is a product that the company will stand behind.

Brooklyn Bedding Review – Customer Feedback:
“Great experience. Shipped fast. Easy setup. The firm mattress is excellent for back sleeping, a bit firm for side sleeping. I added a down featherbed from Parachute, and it is now absolutely perfect. Highly recommend. I couldn’t imagine a better sleeping experience.” – Brian D.
“This bed is outstanding to say the least!!! I bought this bed a few months ago and wanted to wait to write a review so my husband and I could get a good feel for the bed. The service is great, quick, and painless. The bed is extremely heavy and the two of us could barely move it to get it on the base. It has a high amount of individually wrapped coils, which makes the bed extremely resilient. I can definitely see getting ten years out of this bed easily.” – Lorena C.
“Best mattress we have ever purchased. It is perfect; we are thinking about switching it out of the guest room and replacing it with our mattress which cost over $3000. Wish we knew about Brooklyn Bedding earlier. It is awesome!” – Nancy B.
“I was very hesitant and cautious when purchasing a bed in a box, but when I came across Brooklyn Bedding something just clicked. After purchasing the Signature mattress I was absolutely blown away on the comfort, support, style and craftsmanship. I truly couldn’t of picked a better mattress and am absolutely satisfied. I’ve been sleeping better, no more lower back pain and I actually look forward to sleeping now! Best quality bed in a box mattress out there without a doubt in my mind!” – Stephen D.
