DreamCloud Mattress Overview:

loom and leaf vs dreamcloudThe DreamCloud mattress is a super thick 15-inch mattress with 8 different layers. The DreamCloud is a hybrid mattress that also includes a thin latex layer for extra bounce. The product is made overseas and then shipped to the U.S. to help cut down on the production cost and pass the savings along to you. The product even features what’s called a forever warranty that is good for the lifetime of the bed.

This mattress was introduced in 2018 and though it has quickly gained popularity the long term quality and durability may be something to question. The initial universal comfort is appealing and ideal to many, however, the long term feel is yet to be decided. Giving this mattress much appeal but some lingering questions to keep in the back of your mind.

Loom and Leaf  vs DreamCloud – Delivery & Unboxing:

loom and leaf vs dreamcloudFirst, let’s start by comparing just how the two mattresses delivery processes are handled. Loom and Leaf offer a premium delivery service that many of its competitors have to charge for. Your Loom and Leaf mattress will be delivered by a white glove delivery service.

All you need to do is set-up a good time for you and open the door for the trained professionals to set-up your new bed. This service can even take away your old mattress to help make things even simpler. This method also allows Loom and Leaf to use more durable materials since their product doesn’t have to be compressed into a cardboard box.

Get your thick and amazing Loom and Leaf memory foam mattress shipped with free white glove delivery now at LoomandLeaf.com.

The DreamCloud mattress ships by a normal mail service. The mattress will arrive at your home packaged into a compact box. Once it’s arrived you will need to bring the box inside and begin to unpack the DreamCloud. This mattress is pretty hefty as the queen size weighs about 94 pounds. You will need to give this product around 24-hours to fully expand, and a few nights after that to regain its full firmness. We also recommend having a friend to help you set-up the mattress as it is both heavy and awkward to maneuver on your own.

Loom and Leaf  vs DreamCloud – Off-Gassing:

With the Loom and Leaf mattress, there will be no off-gassing since it’s delivered ready to go. The most you will notice is a new mattress smell. With the DreamCloud though, the mattress is manufactured overseas and then shipped to the U.S.A to sit in a warehouse. This means that the DreamCloud will have a bit of off-gassing when you open it. We recommended that you let the mattress air out for about 12-hours before use or up to 24 hours, especially if you are sensitive to smells.

Materials And Layer Comparison:

puffy vs tuloThe Loom and Leaf and DreamCloud mattresses have some pretty obvious differences. The Loom and Leaf is 12-inches thick while the DreamCloud is 15-inches thick. The DreamCloud also has 8 different layers while the Loom and Leaf have half that.

The Loom and Leaf also seem to have more layers targeted towards keeping things cool. Since the DreamCloud is light for a 15-inch mattress on top of being made overseas, we can’t help but question the materials used in the mattress. Overall, Loom and Leaf does seem to be made with more quality and higher standards than the DreamCloud mattress.

Loom and Leaf Materials:

The Loom and Leaf mattress is pretty thick at 12-inches and features 4 different layers that help give it a comfortable feel. The Loom and Leaf comes in two different comfort levels that will slightly differ. The first layer of the Loom and Leaf mattress is a quilted cover that protects the inner layers foam spills. They make this layer with organic cotton. This makes it soft to the touch and breathable. The second layer of the Loom and Leaf is made out of a Cooling Spinal Gel layer. This layer doubles in its use by promoting proper spinal alignment and keeping the bed from overheating during the night.

The third layer of the Loom and Leaf mattress is the Plant-Based 5-pound Premium Foam layer.  This layer has no off-gassing and is made out of eco-friendly material. It also keeps itself cool using natural materials. The last layer of the mattress is the Dual Layer Breathable Support layer. This layer provides most of the Loom and Leafs support while having channels built in to promote air flow. This all combines together to give you a durable mattress with deep comfort to give you a luxurious feel.

DreamCloud Materials:

The DreamCloud mattress is super thick a 15-inches and is made up of 8 different layers to give it a medium-firm feel. The DreamCloud uses a combination of foam and coil to create its hybrid feel. The first layer of this mattress is the TrueTufted Cashmere Top. This gives the bed a plush feel when you first lay on it while protecting the inner layers of the mattress from spills. The second layer of the DreamCloud is the Gel Infused Memory Foam layer. This layer helps keep the mattress from overheating while you sleep on it at night. The third layer of this mattress is the Super Soft Quilted Memory Foam layer. This layer helps give you a deeper feeling of comfort.

The fourth layer is the latex layer to give the bed extra bounce. The fifth layer is made of Dreamplush Supporting Memory Foam. This layer is made to give your body support where you need it most. The sixth layer is made of Super Dense Memory Foam to help with support. The layer under this is the 8-inch coil layer that gives the bed a good amount of bounce. The last layer of this mattress is the support layer. It’s made of High-Density Memory Foam and keeps you from sinking too far into the mattress during the night.

Loom and Leaf – Comfort and Firmness:

casper vs loom and leaf mattress comparisonSince the Loom and Leaf comes in two different firmness levels, consumers have more of a choice when choosing this mattress. The mattress comes in firm and relaxed firm levels for you to choose from. The Relaxed firm option hits at about a 6 on the ten-point firmness scale. This mattress will be perfect for all types of sleepers and is a better choice for side and back sleepers who like to sink into their mattress. This option can also support back sleepers and keep their backs from bowing during the night.

The firm option of the bed is best for back and stomach sleepers. Side sleepers may find that this option doesn’t provide the sink that they are looking for. The firm option of the Loom and Leaf hits around an 8 on the ten-point firmness scale. The mattress also sleeps cool at night and won’t keep you up due to heat. The mattress also has a good amount of edge support so that you can use the whole mattress for sleep.

DreamCloud – Comfort and Firmness:

dreamcloud mattress reviewThe DreamCloud is made to appeal to a universal array of sleepers. The mattress only comes in one firmness level that is made to cater to all sleeping positions. Back, side and stomach sleepers should all be able to get comfortable on the DreamCloud. The bed also has a ton of support to keep you from sinking too far into the mattress, this will help keep things cool at night. The coil system in the bed retains less heat then the foam layers helping trapped heat escape during the night. This makes the DreamCloud easy to sleep on even in warmer months.

The DreamCloud unique combination of layers also gives it a good amount of bounce. This helps you from feeling trapped in the foam when you are trying to roll over during the night. We do have to question how long the DreamCloud will keep this level of comfort since the materials in the mattress have questionable origins.

Loom and Leaf vs DreamCloud – Motion Transfer:

loom leaf mattress reviewOne of the biggest deal breakers when it comes to sharing a bed is a partner that gets up before you or who tosses and turns all night. Thanks to this, most manufacturers do everything they can to create products that stop-motion vibrations. With foam mattresses, you don’t really have to worry about your movements disturbing your partner as the foam is super absorbent to your movements. This makes both of these products a great option for couples looking for their first mattress or a compromise in the bedroom.

Loom and Leaf vs DreamCloud – Temperature Regulation:

loom and leaf vs alexander signatureLoom and Leaf does quite a bit to fight off heat. For starters, the mattress has a cooling gel panel place in where your spine will lay. Along with this the top layers of the mattress have cooling gel added to them as well. The top layer is also designed to promote proper airflow and keep heat from getting trapped in the foam. To top everything off even the base of the mattress is designed to have airflow channels to further cool things down. They even made the cover out of breathable materials to guarantee you can have a restful nights sleep.

dreamcloud mattress reviewThe DreamCloud mattress isn’t completely made of foam. This helps the mattress avoid some of the problems all foam mattresses do concerning heat retainment. The coil system lets air easily circulate in and out of the mattress. They even infuse some of the foam layers with cooling gel to ensure they don’t heat up too much. The latex layer is naturally aerated as well. Sadly, the top few layers of this mattress are primarily memory foam that retains heat quickly. This makes this mattress run slightly hotter than some other hybrid models out there.

Loom and Leaf vs DreamCloud – Edge Support:

loom leaf mattress reviewEdge support can be an often overlooked, but vital part of the mattress buying process. Proper edge support allows you to use the full surface of the mattress for sleeping. A mattress with improper edge support will force you to sleep more towards the middle of the bed to keep from slowly sliding off the edge. Edge support can also be a huge part of determining the bed’s durability, as beds with proper edge support are made with the same quality materials from edge to edge.

Luckily, both the Loom and Leaf mattress and the DreamCloud mattress have a good amount of edge support. Both of these selections give you proper support all the way across the surface of your bed. You can easily sleep towards the edge of these mattresses without feeling like your slowly sinking towards the floor. They may not be the best for edge sitting, but both of these models can support a bit of edge sitting for short activities like putting your shoes on.

Loom and Leaf vs DreamCloud – Value:

The Loom and Leaf mattress is the cheaper of the two options and even offers premium shipping to your home. The DreamCloud, on the other hand, is a more expensive option even though the product is manufactured overseas to cut down on costs. The DreamCloud also offers a forever warranty, but we are concerned that the quality of materials in the mattress will degrade way faster than that. The Loom and Leaf, on the other hand, offers a warranty that’s 5 years above the industry standards of 10 years. Overall, the Loom and Leaf mattress seems like a much better value out of the two, especially for the price.

Loom and Leaf  vs DreamCloud – Additional Information:

mattress warranty & sleep trialIf you have any issues with either of these companies then all you have to do is contact the friendly customer support both of them offer. Both products also come with a sleep trial warranty to help give you a feel for the products before fully committing yourself. Loom and Leaf vs DreamCloud – Summary:

loom and leaf vs alexander signatureThe Loom and Leaf and DreamCloud mattress are two different types of beds. The Loom and Leaf is an all foam model while the DreamCloud is a hybrid bed that uses a combination of materials to create its feel. That’s not the only difference between the two products though as one clearly beats out the other in most categories listed above. For starters, they manufactured the DreamCloud mattress overseas. While Saatva makes the Loom and Leaf mattress in the U.S.A. They also deliver the Loom and Leaf by a white glove service while DreamCloud ships in a box.

The DreamCloud also has a bit of off-gassing while the Loom and Leaf is ready to go when it’s set up in your home. The Loom and Leaf is also much cheaper than the DreamCloud, even consider the DreamCloud’s forever warranty. We also worry about the materials uses in the DreamCloud as it is rather light for a 15-inch hybrid mattress. We worry that while the DreamCloud may be comfortable at first, the mattress will degrade over time and lose its comfortable feel. Overall, we would recommend the Loom and Leaf mattress since we know it’s a well-built product that will last you for years to come. Overall making it the clear choice between the two, in our opinion.
