Delivery & Set Up – Loom & Leaf vs Signature Flippable
Typically, most online mattress brands have a rather similar process when it comes to delivery and set up. The Signature Series Flippable mattress falls right in line with these standard practices. You place your order, your mattress is compressed and roll packed into a shippable box, that is then delivered to your home. Which you then carry to your desired bedroom and set up on your own.
The Loom & Leaf by Saatva on the other hand has a different process for delivery and set up all together. You place your order and then your mattress is made. The Loom & Leaf is never compressed and instead is wrapped and delivered to your home. The changes keep going at this point. Instead of setting up your mattress yourself, Saatva offers free in-home delivery and set up.
This white glove delivery service means you set up a delivery date and time and your mattress will be brought into your home and set up for you. No heavy lifting or unpacking. You also won’t have any off-gassing that occurs, or waiting for your mattress to air out or firm up. Your bed will be ready for sleeping right away. This is a big bonus and it is completely free and included with your purchase of the Loom & Leaf mattress.

Materials – Loom & Leaf vs Signature All-Foam
Loom & Leaf – Materials
Since Saatva never compresses their mattresses, they are able to use higher quality materials that would not otherwise tolerate being compressed. All of the foams used in the Loom & Leaf mattress are American made and eco-friendly. Every step of the way Loom & Leaf tries to be as eco-friendly as possible. Their foams are made with responsibly sourced materials like renewable oils. They even use processes that reduce greenhouse gasses during manufacturing. This is one Earth friendly mattress.
The base layer of foam in the Loom & Leaf mattress consists of a 6” layer of high-density foam. This is the main foundation for the rest of the mattress. Giving a great base for the other layers to work off of.
On top of the foundational layer of foam is their 2” transition loft pad. This pad may be thin but it has an important job. This layer allows for plenty of deep pressure relief an provides a transitional section between the softer comfort layers and the firm foundation layer of foam. This avoids any potential for a bottoming out feel. Which is when you sit on a mattress and sink so far until you “hit bottom” feeling the firm base layer beneath. You won’t experience any of that with the Loom & Leaf mattress though.
Next up is a 3” layer of cooling spinal gel memory foam. This is a great comfort layer of foam that has several bonus features. This foam not only features a cooling gel infusion to wick away heat from the surface of the mattress, it also has zoned support. This means that it provides more support where you need it, like in the lumber section of the mattress while allowing for more pressure relief around the hips and shoulder area.
To top it all off is the cover layer for the Loom & Leaf. Which is a comfort layer all on its own. They start with an organic cotton fabric that is oh so soft and breathable, then it is quilted with a 5/8” foam layer. This quilted cover provides a breathable plush euro-style pillow top feel that is luxurious without compromising on support. Overall we are very impressed with the quality of the materials and construction used to create the Loom & Leaf mattress by Saatva.
The quality and durability of these materials will have you sleeping like a baby soon. Shop now and order your Loom and Leaf at Saatva.com.
Nest Bedding Signature Flippable – Materials
The Signature Series mattress was recently updated with new materials and a flippable design. These upgrades have made for a more versatile mattress that has two different comfort option mixed into one mattress.
The finishing cover of the mattress is the same on both sides. It consists of a very thin layer of their CoolFlow Plush foam which is quilted into their organic cotton cover. This is rather similar to the cover used on the Loom & Leaf mattress.
Underneath the first over on the Medium firmness side is a 2” layer of their Gel Memory Foam, this is a great layer for pressure relief that manages to stay cooler with the gel infusion. In between this layer and the base is a 2” layer of transitional foam. This is a great medium firmness level that provides support for the Medium firmness side and transition for the Firm side of the bed
For the Firm side of the mattress there is a 7” layer of their luxury firm base foam. This is the most substantial layer in terms of size. It creates a solid base of the bed if you are sleeping on the Medium comfort side, while it gives a firm feel for the firm side of the mattress.
The idea behind the flippable construction for this bed is that you can choose your comfort level on the go. If you are not sure whether you would like a medium firmness option of you want to try out the feel of a firm mattress you can have both in your home and change it up between the two.

Comfort – Signature Flippable vs Loom & Leaf
While both the Loom & Leaf and the Signature Series have 2 comfort options and the Signature is Flippable making it a 2 in 1 for comfort options. We found that the Loom & Leaf has better universal comfort level that provide better support and overall comfort. Part of this is due to the zoned comfort layer within the Loom & Lead mattress. Their zoned comfort layer customizes the areas of the mattress that need more pressure relief or support. Which means whether you sleep on your side, back, or stomach, you’re going to get a good amount of support right where you need it.
We found that the quality of materials in the Loom & Leaf is just slightly a step above the ones used in the Signature Series which really makes a big impact when it comes to comfort. While the flippable feature in the Signature sounds great, it means that you have less focus on one side to have the best comfort possible. While the firm side of the signature mattress is actually a better base for the medium comfort side than it is a true luxury firm sleeping surface all on it’s own. Which is why the Loom & Leaf takes the win for overall comfort.
Motion Transfer – Loom & Leaf vs Signature Series
Tie One major benefit to purchasing an all-foam mattress is it’s ability to eliminate movements throughout the mattress. Hybrid beds tend to allow for more motion to move throughout the bed which can cause partner disruption. Or if you have kids or pets that share the bed with you, the more you can limit motion transfer, the better. The Loom & Leaf and Signature Series mattress ties in this department.
Truly they both do a fantastic job at eliminating movement throughout the mattress. You will be able to sleep comfortably even if your partner is tossing and turning. Whether you are leaning toward the Loom & Leaf or the Signature Series, either way you go we bet you will be more than satisfied with your new mattresses ability to eliminate motion transfer.
This is due to both mattresses all-foam construction and their use of memory foam, which is one of the best materials at dampening vibrations and movement throughout a bed.
Edge Support – Loom & Leaf Mattress vs Signature Series
When comparing these two all-foam mattresses to one another we found that there is some variety in how they perform as far as edge support goes. Overall, we did find that the Loom & Leaf allows for a sturdier edge with more support overall. This includes support while laying by the edge of the mattress as well as when we sat on the side of the mattress. However, the Firm option does offer more support than the Relaxed Firm comfort option. Although both comfort options performed very well, especially for an all-foam mattress.
The Signature Flippable mattress did not perform quite as well as the Loom & Leaf as far as edge support goes. The Medium comfort option did change a bit in support when you lay closer to the side of the mattress. It also allowed for a bit of a sinking when sitting on the side of the mattress as well. Although we did find that the Luxury Firm comfort option did a better job with edge support. We did not feel much difference in support with this comfort option as we laid closer to the edge. There was also more support when sitting on the edge of the mattress as well.
While the Signature Series mattresses Luxury Firm comfort side did a decent job, we still give the win for edge support to the Loom & Leaf which had rather good support with both of their comfort options.
Sleeping Cool – Signature Flippable vs Loom & Leaf
If you’re looking for the ultimate coolest sleeping mattress EVER, then you have come to the wrong place. All-foam mattresses tend to sleep on the warmer side, especially is they have memory foam in them. The Loom & Leaf and Signature Series Flippable mattresses are great for anyone who is a fan of that memory foam feel but wants to ensure that they don’t get too warm.
The Signature Series keeps it’s mattress cool with the materials they used throughout the mattress starting with their organic cotton cover. This breathable cotton is a great material that breaths well and wicks away any excess moisture. This cover is then quilted with their CoolFlow foam to add an extra layer of defense against heat retention. This cover is on both sides of the Signature Flippable mattress. Although an extra layer of cooling gel memory foam is found on the Medium comfort side.
The Loom & Leaf mattress has several layer of cooling gels in their foams as well. Their layer with zoned pressure relief has extra cooling gel around the spine area. They also made sure to swirl their top comfort foam with a cooling gel as well. These gels help to keep any heat being held onto by the foam to be pulled away from the body so you can sleep cooler. They final top layer of memory foam is then quilted with their cool organic cotton cover for loads of breathable comfort.
At the end of the day we would give the Signature Series and the Loom & Leaf a tie for sleeping cool, they have both added some nice cooling materials to their all foam beds that will help keep them temperature neutral.

When determining the value of a mattress it is important to keep in mind that we look at the quality of a mattress and compare it to the price. If you are looking at a cheap mattress quality with a high price tag that is a no go and we would say it is a low value for the mattress you are looking to purchase. Thankfully we don’t feel this way with either of these beds. Although, we would say that the Loom & Leaf gives you higher performing mattress at around the same price if not better. Which is why it takes the win all around for mattress value. These prices do not reflect coupons or active discounts! So be sure to click the buttons below to get our latest deals and coupons.
