The Alexander Signature mattress will take a bit to expand once you have it laid out. We recommend that you give it a little bit of time to fully firm up, at least. At least several hours before sleeping on and a good 24 to 48 hours before determining the actual feel. You will notice a little bit of off-gassing during the unboxing and unwrapping process. This should quickly dissipate, for the smell sensitive, we recommend a 12 hours period to let the mattress air out.

The relaxed firm works perfectly for all sleeping types. Whether you prefer to sleep on your side, stomach, or back you will feel comfortable on the Loom and Leaf. While this option is softer it is still a very solid sleeping service.
The firm option is preferred by back and stomach sleepers. The firmer option falls at around an 8 on the 10 point firmness scale. Thanks to this, side sleepers who like the feeling of sinking into a mattress won’t care much for this option. For the medium Alexander Signature, it has a firmness between 5 to 5.5. This mattress is great for back, stomach, and side sleepers. While it does still have a nice bit of support to it, it still has a good amount of softness to sink into. The Luxury firm option rates at a 7.5 to 8.5 on the firmness scale. This option is for people who don’t like to sink into their mattress. Generally, stomach and back sleepers will prefer this option.
Loom and Leaf vs Alexander Signature Comfort & Firmness:
Both the Loom and Leaf and Alexander Signature mattresses are made to give you premium comfort. The Loom and Leaf offers a medium-firm (their luxury firm) and firm option while the Nest Bedding option has a medium and firm (their luxury firm) option. Though they both use the term luxury firm what each of those means for the brands is quite a bit different.
The Loom and Leaf luxury firm will be most like the Alexander Signature medium. With the Loom and Leaf being a bit firmer and a better fit for more sleepers. The Alexander medium may be a little too soft and will only get softer in time. Making it the least desirable option of all. The Loom and Leaf firm and Alexander Signature luxury firm will be about the same for firmness or comfort. Making them the most comparable. Both will be plenty firm for back and stomach sleepers and may be a bit too firm for side sleepers.
As far as comfort and support goes the Loom & Leaf bed does offer a better choice for memory foam mattresses. Their comfort levels are much more appropriate for this style and will hold up much better over the long haul. While the luxury firm feel of the Nest bedding option will also be good for sleepers the medium option does lack support most require, especially over time.

This makes the Loom and Leaf comfortable to sleep on all night long.
The Alexander Signature mattress features a Thermic phase changing cooling layer built into the cover. This layer helps dissipate heat while redirecting it out of the mattress. Additionally, the edge base foam helps by keeping you from sinking too far down into the mattress. Depending on which firmness option you choose will also have an effect on how cool the Alexander Signature will sleep.
Both mattresses do a good job at keeping a comfortable temperature throughout the night. That being said depending on what firmness option you pick will also have a huge effect. The firmer options of the two will always fun cooler while the softer will run hotter. The firmest option comes from Loom and Leaf while the softest is going to come from Alexander. Loom and Leaf vs Alexander Signature Edge Support:
The Loom and Leaf mattress has a great base memory foam for edge sleeping. This makes the bed have an even feel all the way across. The firmer option, of course, will be the best for edge sleepers. Even edge sitting works well with the Loom and Leaf and you won’t feel like your sliding off while watching your favorite TV shows.
The Alexander Signature is a very solid mattress. Every inch of the Alexander is supportive giving it a very supportive feel from edge to edge. You won’t feel like your sinking or sliding off during the night thanks to this. The edges are slightly rounded though which makes them a little bit harder to sleep on. Edge sitting for the Alexander will be limited though and after a bit of time, you will start to sink into the mattress.
Both mattresses do have some edge support. The Loom & Leaf mattress is quite superior in many ways though. The Alexander Signatures rounded edges make it harder to sleep on the edge, and you can’t sit on the Nest Bedding option for extended periods of time either.
