Nectar Mattress Overview:
Many have heard of Nectar. Whether it’s there sheer amount of advertising or how it has become to be known for its affordability. Either way, this mattresses uses three layers of memory foam to give you a solid medium-firm feel. This makes the mattress supportive and ideal for most sleeping types and positions.
Wrap it up in a soft, breathable, TENCEL cover and you have an appealing memory foam mattress. With many people finding the benefits of this new mattress to be right up their alley. Especially when it comes in under $1000 and offers 365 nights to try it out first hand.

All Brentwood Home products include free shipping and delivery, maintaining that affordable price you love. As if free shipping isn’t enough, Brentwood Home will even set it up for you for just a small fee.
Otherwise, you may also choose to set up your new mattress yourself. The Cypress Bamboo will arrive straight to your door in a somewhat manageable box. All you need to do is carry it inside, take it out of the box, remove the plastic, and sit back as your new, affordable luxury mattress comes to life.
This USA-made mattress will have no noxious odors, just perhaps that new mattress smell. It is always recommended to wait a few hours before using your new mattress to let the fumes dissipate.
Nectar – Delivery & Set Up:
The delivery and unboxing process with most online mattresses is similar. With your Nectar mattress, shipping is included in the price. Once you order, the mattress is compressed, roll-packaged in a box and sent overseas from China.
After it is warehoused, it is finally shipped to you. Your Nectar mattress will only take a few days to get from its holding place, since there are several holding places across the US. However, the journey from overseas alone is enough time to keep noxious fumes and odor trapped. Since it is made in a foreign country, there are less stringent guidelines for quality and health concerns.
With all that in mind, when your Nectar mattress arrives to your door, you will still be equally as thrilled. The mattress will weight approximately 70 lbs. and it is recommended to have two people to maneuver it.
Once you get it where it needs to be, and out of the package, your Nectar mattress will expand about 50% initially, but requires 24-48 more hours to fully expand. This is an excellent time to open a window and let those fumes dissipate. After that, your new Nectar mattress is all yours and ready for a luxury night’s sleep.
Cypress Bamboo Mattress Materials:
Whether you choose the 11” or 13” mattress, the materials in your Cypress Bamboo mattress are the same, just thicker respectively. Specifically the 11” offers 2.5” of Gel Memory Foam, 2” of Airflux Foam, with a 6.5” Base Foam; and the 13” offers 3.5” of Gel Memory Foam, 2” of Airflux Foam, and a 7.5” Base Foam. Both options are covered with a unique bamboo cover for incredible softness and breathability, but let’s digress a bit.
From the bottom up, the Cypress Bamboo begins with a thick layer of firm support base foam. This is the core of the mattress and helps with motion isolation and prevents noise. On top of that, both thicknesses include 2” of Airflux Foam. This transition layer from base foam to soft top layer foam also provides deep support, comfort, and maximum airflow.
Lastly the Gel Memory Foam atop each mattress, offers the unique components of gel and is a bit softer than typical memory foam. The benefits for each thickness will be the same. The pressure relief benefits include even weight distribution and alleviated pressure points. This layer provides the perfect amount of cradle and cushion, while significantly minimizing motion transfer.
Finally the entire mattress is wrapped in New Zealand wool, perfect for temperature control and moisture wicking. Then it is finished with a bamboo zippered cover made from eco-friendly bamboo cellulose. This cover is easy to remove, soft, durable, and washable.
Nectar Mattress Materials:
This all memory foam mattress has more incredible layers than you might realize. From the bottom up, the Nectar mattress begins with a breathing base layer. This layer provides a stable foundation reinforcing the contour and support of all the layers above. Next is the adaptive hi core memory foam layer.
This is a recovery foam that supports the body by providing rebound and bounce. In the very center is the gel memory foam that delivers weight distribution and pressure relief. Although not on the very top, this is the layer that will give you that ahhh feeling night after night.
Above that comes a quilted gel memory foam. This provides loft and air circulation while perfectly contouring to your body. Wrap all of that up in a TENCEL cooling cover that promotes air circulation, heat wicking, and is bedbug resistant; and you get your Nectar mattress.
Cypress Bamboo Comfort:
Customization is key when it comes to your sleep. That’s why Brentwood Home offers two different comfort options whether you prefer a softer or firmer feeling mattress.
Regardless of which thickness you choose, 11” medium-firm or 13” medium, the comfort, pressure relieving benefits, and affordability will be the same; it all depends on how you sleep.
For dominant side sleepers, the 13” will be the most ideal for you. This thicker, softer option allows a little more sink for your hips and shoulders, which means more cushion and pressure relief. If you’re a side sleeper who likes it firm, the 11” mattress is doable.
For back sleepers, either thickness should be suitable. Both options will have ideal support and both work great for back sleepers, giving you all the options. If you like having an in-the-bed feel, then the 13” is best. Or if you like a more firm on-the-bed feel, then the 11” is ideal.
Stomach sleepers are not as versatile. If you are a stomach sleeper, you will want a firmer mattress to prevent your back from bowing. This means the 11” mattress with medium-firm feel will be more ideal. Lastly, if you are a combination sleeper, the choice is yours, with the 13” having a slight edge.
The Nectar has one universal comfort level, with a medium-firm feel. Depending on your size it will feel like a 5.5 to a 7 on a 1 to 10 firmness scale. This universal feel is ideal for all sleeping positions. Specifically this is for anyone who likes a slower responding all foam feel. The multiple layers of foam will cocoon your body, while providing pressure relief without a stuck-in-the-bed feel.
Sleeping more on the bed than in it, also helps combat sleeping warm. So if you are a naturally warmer sleeper, sinking in too deep might make you sleep less comfortably. The Nectar mattress feels like a true memory foam. However, since it is made in China, there is some question as to the quality of the mattress over time.
Cypress Bamboo vs Nectar – Motion Transfer:
Motion transfer is rarely an issue with memory foam mattresses, but it is still important to know about.
With the Cypress Bamboo, the slower responding and dense foams quickly absorb vibrations. If any motion does slip through, the transition layer quickly deadens it. The Cypress Bamboo is specifically ideal for anyone that is especially sensitive to movement. In addition, the thicker 13” mattress is even better for motion isolation due to its thickness.
Similarly the Nectar, with multiple layers of foam quickly absorbs motion as well. Even if you toss and turn consistently throughout the night, or share your mattress with a partner, you won’t be awakened from movement.
However, while the Nectar is ideal for motion transfer, the Cypress Bamboo has higher quality materials for an even less motion transfer.
Cypress Bamboo vs Nectar – Sleeping Cool:
Unlike motion transfer, all foam mattresses are not as ideal when it comes to sleeping cool. Typically heat has no place to escape and stays warm, but the Cypress Bamboo takes several precautions to ensure you sleep cool, against the odds.
From the very top, the Bamboo cover is an ideal temperature regulator. This cover helps with circulation and wicks away moisture. Next, the gel memory foam has the unique qualities of gel that slightly offset the typical warmth of memory foam.
In addition the Airflux layer is specifically named since it does provide a place for any retained heat to escape. Lastly, if you want to sleep cool, you should sleep on top of the mattress instead of in it. Thus, the firmer the mattress, the 11” thickness, the more you will sleep on the mattress and not in it, sleeping cooler the whole night long.
There is less to be said about the Nectar, especially since it is a lower quality mattress. The firmness and the cover will work with you to sleep cooler, but little else with the mattress will.
The firmness of the Nectar mattress also helps you stay on top of it to sleep cool, while the TENCEL cover is soft and breathable. Other than that, you may still find yourself sleeping slightly warm.
Cypress Bamboo vs Nectar – Edge Support:
Edge support affects both the ability to sit/ use the edge of your mattress and the amount of usable sleeping surface that you have. The Cypress Bamboo has a usable sleeping surface all the way up to the edges, thanks to a solid perimeter.
The entire mattress will evenly distribute your weight while sleeping, but not as much while sitting on the edge. This mattress offers minimal support while sitting on the edge, especially for long periods of time.
With the Nectar mattress, you should also be able to sleep on the entire surface from middle to edge, without a falling out of bed feel. However for sitting on the edge, the mattress will seem less stable and only perform as expected for a memory foam mattress.
Cypress Bamboo vs Nectar – Value:
You have never encountered a mattress with excellent value like the Cypress Bamboo. You get all of these features and a quality mattress for only $500 for the 11” queen, and $600 for the 13” queen. Compared to similar mattresses, this would typically cost you anywhere from $800 to $1200. Don’t forget this incredible price also includes free shipping, which will make it easy to upgrade to have your mattress setup for you.
We feel the Cypress Bamboo is the better mattress in terms of value. Even if they were the same price, the quality of the Cypress Bamboo, feel and additional sleeping benefits make it stand out compared to the Nectar. Though the Nectar is also a very affordable mattress, at $850 for a queen, and even less after coupons, the quality, feel and sleeping benefits aren’t quite as appealing. However, if you do go with this option you will also get free shipping too.
Cypress Bamboo vs Nectar – Trial Period & Warranty:
In terms of trial period and warranty, the Cypress Bamboo and Nectar are mostly evenly matched. Especially since you are shopping for your mattress online, these companies know that theres a small chance you might not be completely satisfied with your purchase.
Both mattress offer a 365 day trial period, which means that even on day 350, if you decide the mattress isn’t comfortable enough for you, you may send it back worry free. The only difference is that the Cypress Bamboo includes a 25 year warranty, and the Nectar includes a lifetime warranty, to cover any manufacturer or other defects. Both are above average and generous warranties.
Cypress Bamboo vs Nectar – Summary:
If you haven’t switched to a memory foam mattress just yet, now is the perfect time to try. The incredibly affordable Cypress Bamboo and Nectar mattresses are exactly what you have been looking for in a memory foam mattress. While the Nectar is a household name in the online mattress business, the Cypress Bamboo is the preferred mattress.
The Cypress Bamboo is 100% made in the US and performs better in every category including sleeping cool, edge support, motion transfer, and others. The delivery and off-gassing process is easier and less toxic than the Nectar, and the cost is even cheaper for a better quality mattress. The choice is yours, but we highly recommend the Cypress Bamboo.
