Casper vs Tomorrow: Delivery & Off Gassing

casper vs tomorrow

There isn’t much difference in this category for the Casper and Tomorrow mattresses. Both are made in the USA, compressed, put into a compact box and shipped right to your door. The off gassing and fumes of both was very minimal, especially for a bed in a box mattress. The Tomorrow and Casper may have a few fumes trapped, but nothing that won’t dissipate in a few hours.

Another thing to note with both of these mattresses is that they may take a few hours to fully expand after being in their boxes. It is a good idea to let them expand and breathe for about 3 to 4 hours, at a minimum, before sleeping on them to make sure you get a true feel as well as no lingering odors. Ideally if you can give either mattress about 24 hours to fully expand and air out, that would be best.

Casper vs Tomorrow: Comfort & Materials

The Casper & Tomorrow Sleep mattresses are going to vary in feel and comfort and this aspect is highly subjective to each sleeper. However, when comparing these beds to each other there will be a few ways of objectively approach how comfortable they may be.

our mattress guide

First off the Casper mattress has one comfort option, a universal feel that will be around a 6 to 6.5 on a firmness scale of 1 through 10. 1 being the softest and 10 being firmest. This medium-firm feel is usually ideal for the majority of sleepers, hence why they only have one feel.

The Tomorrow Sleep mattress has two comfort options to choose from, medium-soft and medium-firm. The medium-soft choice is around a 4 on the firmness scale, while the mediumfirm comes in around a 6.5. These choices fall right in line with the popular medium-firm feel which is best for stomach and back sleepers and even side sleepers too. They also offer the softer option which is great for side and back sleepers. Having the ability to choose which firmness option is best for you does give an advantage to Tomorrow by allowing more choices to the buyer.

Tomorrow Sleep Materials

casper vs tomorrowThe Tomorrow mattress is a 10″ thick mattress with 4 or 5 layers of foam and coils. The materials vary slightly depending on if you opt for between the medium-soft or the medium-firm. However, the top layer of both will be 1″ of pressure relieving memory foam. This layer of memory foam is supportive and adaptive to every point of your body and focuses on relieving pressure from head to toe. Under this layer is either a 2″ layer of Bounce foam OR a 2″ layer of Airy Memory foam over the Bounce foam. This provides a responsive layer that creates a bit of spring for easy moving as well as good heat dissipation.

Under this is the 6″ coil layer that provides a solid core and plenty of support. This durable and sturdy layer is surrounded by a ventilated foam encasement that not only helps keep the mattress durable and usable from edge to edge, but also allows heat to dissipate. The very bottom of this mattress is 1″ of dense base foam that provides a solid surface for the coils and comfort foams to sit on.

All the layers work together to provide an ideally pressure relieving as well as adaptable comfort that moves with you but also lets you sink in just enough all while providing good solid support for proper spinal alignment. Not to mention this brand also has other products designed to work in sync with the mattress to create and ideal sleeping experience from their pillows, to their comforter to even a sleep tracker that is easy to use and helps you find your best sleeping rhythm.

Casper Materials

The Casper mattress is a 10″ mattress that uses 4 layers of foam too. The top layer is going to be 1.5″ of a latex alternative poly foam. This layer is meant to mimic the feel of latex and be more responsive. This is followed by another 1.5″ of memory foam and 1.5″ of transition foam. These comfort layers sit on a 5″ base of dense support foam. The cover on this mattress is a little thicker too and roughly makes up the last 1/2″ that completes this mattress. This mattress will have a conforming yet responsive feel that will be supportive as well.

Casper vs Tomorrow: Motion Transfer

The Tomorrow Sleep mattress is a hybrid while the Casper is an all foam. This will make a bit of difference sine typically all foam mattresses tend to have less motion transfer. However, even though the Tomorrow mattress has a coil system the materials do a good job of minimizing and isolating motion. Not only do they wrap each coil to reduce to almost eliminate movement, but there are also several dense layers of foam, specifically memory foam on top, that will isolate motion very well.

Casper’s top is a more responsive poly foam layer that is meant to mimic latex and will have a more responsive feel. These mattresses may be different styles but both do good job of minimizing vibrations and both will be great for lighter sleepers or anyone who shares a bed.

Casper vs Tomorrow: Sleeping Cool

Sleeping cool can sometimes make or break the comfort of a mattresses. Regardless of how soft or pressure relieving the materials can be if you are too warm it can ruin your entire sleep experience. As far as sleeping cool goes with the Casper and Tomorrow you may have very different experiences with heat retention.

tomorrow mattress reviewThe Tomorrow mattress does a great job for sleeping cool. The coil system of this mattress allows for plenty of heat to dissipate and air to easily flow between the coils. It also incorporates several cooling properties in the rest of the design too. Including thermic phase changing material added to the top layer of memory foam, more responsive layers beneath the memory foam and even ventilated foam around the edges to really let heat escape. It even has a breathable cover that won’t build up heat too. The attention to the details of sleeping cool do not go unnoticed in the Tomorrow Sleep hybrid mattress.

The Casper mattress has a top layer that has an open cell layer of foam that is suppose to help pull heat away from the body. The top layer also acts as a barrier between the memory foam and the surface as well. It also uses a woven stretch knit cover that is breathable and meant to dissipate heat. These materials will help reduce some of the heat retention but may not do enough if you are a very warm sleeper.

Casper vs Tomorrow: Edge Support

casper vs puffy mattress comparisonEdge support may or may not be something that is a big concern to you. However, if it is than paying attention to how well constructed and durable the materials are will play a roll. Edge support is important if you either sit on the edge form time to time or if it is important for you to use the full edge to edge sleeping surface of your mattress. Making sure that even the edges are solid and hold up will make a difference in how comfortable it is as well as how it performs for you.

The Tomorrow mattress performs very well for utilizing the edge while sleeping and can be slept on from edge to edge. The foam encasement around the perimeter makes it not only great for sleeping but also more supportive when sitting too. The Capser mattress has a little less support around the perimeter. While sleeping you can utilize the majority of the mattress and should feel a consistency from edge to edge. However sleeping right up to the edge you may feel a little less support. It also does not have much support for sitting for an extended period of time.

Casper vs Tomorrow: Value

Notice that don’t use the term price, but instead value, because value and price are not the same thing. Value is going to be what you are getting for what the price is. Sometimes a price may seem like a good number but if you aren’t getting the best product for that price than the value isn’t that great. This is especially true for mattresses. There are several brands that will fall around the same price, but you really have to understand what you are paying for if you want a good value.

This mattress may be right up your ally, and if that is the case, great. It is a 10″ thick mattress with poly and memory foam comfort layers.
